Million Dollar Day for Scouting: Leading in the Right Direction

Northern Star Council is planning to kick off our Centennial Year of Scouting Celebration by doing what no other Boy Scout Council has ever done: Raise over $1 Million dollars in 24 hours.

Mark your calendar to be a part of our annual Million Dollar Day for Scouting!  The two events that will kick-off our Centennial Year of Scouting and present our annual stewardship report to the community will be held on Wednesday, December 9 and Thursday, December 10, 2009.

Direct contributions provide nearly one quarter of the council's budget. Our 2010 campaign utilizes the "Million Dollar Day for Scouting", a council-wide blitz day for our 2010 Friends of Scouting Campaign, to reach $1,000,000 of our $2,750,000 campaign goal by the end of this 24-hour period. Please consider this your invitation to join us and feel welcome to invite your Scouting friends and other supporters to these great events.

The Saint Paul Leadership Breakfast, on Wednesday, December 9 - 7:15 a.m. will be held at the St. Paul Crowne Plaza Riverfront Hotel, Great River Ballroom (11 East Kellogg Boulevard). The program will feature a special keynote address by Head Coach of the MN Gophers, Tubby Smith, and a presentation of the Scoutmaster of Philanthropy Award to Roland Wilsey.

The Bloomington Leadership Breakfast will be held on Thursday, December 10 - 7:15 a.m. at the Embassy Suites Bloomington Hotel - NOT the one by the airport! (2800 American Blvd. W, Bloomington, MN off of Penn Avenue).  Featuring the presentation of the Scoutmaster of Philanthropy Award to Marvin Borman, and a Keynote address from the President of the MN Timberwolves, Chris Wright.
